Loved this place. The rendang was tasty, tuna clay pot too. The pizza flavour was lovely, though the base is a.bit crunchy, not light fluffy dough. The ice cream was too sweet for me. But service and ambience and flavours of the main dishes all really enjoyable.

Lotus Mio used to be a hidden gem in Tirtodipuran, a staple of my college years—a perfect nugas spot where the ambiance was effortlessly inviting, and the food never missed. In recent years, they’ve relocated to Bangunjiwo, and with the move came an evolution. The new space is expansive, surrounded by beautiful scenery, yet it retains the warmth that made it special. The menu has also grown, but it still delivers one of the most underrated selections of Western comfort food in Jogja. From crisp, wood-fired pizzas to indulgent apple pie, everything is crafted with an attention to detail that’s rare. They also have Indonesian dishes and vegetarian options, making it an easy choice for a diverse crowd. If you visit, you must try their thin-crust pizza—perfectly charred, light, yet satisfyingly rich in flavor. And if you have room, don’t hold back on the desserts. My old favorite, the apple pie, remains a masterpiece: warm, buttery, with a delicate balance of soft, caramelized apples and just the right hit of cinnamon. It’s the kind of dessert that feels like a hug, a bite that lingers with nostalgia and a quiet sense of home.
